Vespara | Overwatch Fan Hero | 3D Character Art

Vespara is an original Overwatch-inspired Tank hero, an Omnic hive queen commanding an army of mechanical hornets.
This personal project showcases the full character creation pipeline, from concept to game-ready 3D character, with a focus on strong silhouettes, distinctive abilities and Overwatch’s visual style.
Her insect-inspired armour combines black, gold and burgundy to convey royalty, authority and a sinister vision of Omnic unity.

BACKSTORY
Once a follower of the Shambali, Vespara believed in unity between Omnics and humanity. After Mondatta’s assassination, she sought to unite Omnics under a single consciousness, but failed and was exiled.
Now, she collects broken Omnics worldwide, rebuilding them into mechanical hornets for her growing hive. She remains determined to create a future where all Omnics are united under a shared purpose... her purpose.

ABILITIES:

SWARM SURGE
Primary Fire
Fire a continuous stream of hornets. Sustained hits cause hornets to orbit targets, dealing additional damage. Stored energy boosts damage.

STINGER VOLLEY
Secondary Fire
Fire a cone of stingers that damage and slow enemies. Stored energy increases the slowing effect.

NEST DOME
Ability
Deploy a protective dome that blocks projectiles and shields allies. Absorbed damage generates energy to empower your attacks.

PHEROMONE TRACE
Passive
Damaged enemies become marked when disengaging, briefly revealing them through walls for swarm tracking.

DEVOURING TEMPEST
Ultimate
Unleash a controllable hornet vortex from your chest that pursues, damages and pulls enemies inward. Applies Pheromone Trace, sustains Vespara and ends in a damaging burst.

The project focuses on character modeling, sculpting, texturing, rigging and presentation, with additional attention given to the mechanical hornet designs, ability visualizations and hero poses.
